Why Bridgewalk Resort & Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort Are Pet-Free Hotels
There's something special about a beach vacation.
The sound of the waves. The warm Gulf breeze. Bare feet in the sand. A spectacular sunset. And, hopefully, a really good night's sleep.
At Bridgewalk Resort and Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort, we want every guest to enjoy that experience—which is why both properties are pet-free hotels.
And yes, we know what you're thinking: "But I love my dog!"
We do too. 🐾
Our pet-free policy isn't about being anti-pet. It's about creating a comfortable environment for all of our guests, including those who may have allergies, sensitivities, or simply prefer accommodations without animals.
Why Choose a Pet-Free Hotel?
Traveling can already come with enough surprises. Your hotel room shouldn't be one of them.
A pet-free environment can mean:
🛏️ A Fresh, Comfortable Room
Some travelers are sensitive to pet dander and allergens. Keeping our guest rooms pet-free helps us provide a consistently clean and comfortable environment for everyone.
😴 A Little More Peace and Quiet
We love a good vacation soundtrack—but we're thinking waves, not barking.
A pet-free hotel helps create a peaceful atmosphere where guests can relax after a day of exploring Anna Maria Island.
🧼 Consistent Cleaning Standards
Our housekeeping teams work hard to maintain clean, welcoming guest rooms. A pet-free policy helps us maintain a consistent environment from one guest to the next.
🌴 One Less Thing to Worry About
Vacation should be about relaxing, not wondering whether the room you're staying in has recently accommodated an animal.
At Bridgewalk Resort and Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort, guests can arrive knowing they are staying in a pet-free environment.
But What About Service Animals?
This is an important distinction.
While Bridgewalk Resort and Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort are pet-free properties, we absolutely welcome ADA service animals as required by federal law.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are not considered pets. A service animal is generally a dog that has been individually trained to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability.
Because service animals are protected under federal law, our pet-free policy does not apply to qualified ADA service animals.
Our team is committed to treating guests traveling with service animals with the same welcoming hospitality we provide to every guest.
Service Animal or Pet? Understanding the Difference
It's easy to use the terms interchangeably, but under the ADA, they are not the same.
A pet is an animal kept primarily for companionship.
A service animal is specifically trained to perform tasks or work directly related to a person's disability.
For example, a service dog may be trained to assist with mobility, alert a person to certain medical conditions, retrieve items, or perform another specific task related to a disability.
Emotional support, comfort, or companionship alone does not make an animal a service animal under the ADA.
Our team follows applicable federal requirements when welcoming service animals.
So, Can You Bring Fluffy?
If Fluffy is your beloved family pet, we're afraid the answer is no.
If Fluffy is a qualified ADA service animal, yes—and you're welcome to stay with us.
We know leaving a furry family member at home can be difficult, so we encourage guests traveling with pets to make arrangements with a trusted pet sitter, boarding facility, or family member before their trip.
Think of it as Fluffy's own vacation.
While you're soaking up the Anna Maria Island sunshine, Fluffy can enjoy some quality time with their favorite humans back home. 🐶
A Vacation Everyone Can Enjoy
Our goal at Bridgewalk Resort and Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort is simple: to provide a clean, comfortable, welcoming place for everyone to enjoy their Anna Maria Island getaway.
For some guests, that means knowing they can relax in a pet-free room.
For guests traveling with a qualified service animal, that means knowing they will be welcomed and accommodated in accordance with federal requirements.
And for everyone else?
It means more beach time, more sunsets, more island adventures—and hopefully plenty of that wonderful vacation feeling we like to call "Ahhh…"
